Do good. Grow things.
Welcome to Goat Island Farm
Our sustainable organic farm (think no pesticides, herbicides or other chemical inputs), is located in East Point Washington in Walton County, Florida. Crop rotation, green manures, composting, worm castings and beneficial insects keep our farm healthy.
Small is good! That's our philosophy of farming, and we practice it every day by taking care of all the tiny things, from the microbes in our soil all the way up to our pollinators! We never tire of the miracle of the seed popping its tiny head out of the soil to start anew the eternal cycle of life!
Do Good & Grow Things
Engaging as farmers in this cycle means being present, awake, watchful. It means remembering our collective human past and keeping it alive. It means connecting with what feeds us. We partake in one of the oldest human rituals of events of planting as prayer, mediation, and the singing of the ancient mantra: seed to soil to plant.
We're so happy that you're here now to join us in this joyful communion! Let's feed our bodies. What is good for people is good for the planet! So...
Do good! Grow things!
"A child said, What is the grass? fetching it to me with full hands; How could I answer the child?. . . I do not know what it is any more than he. I guess it must be the flag of my disposition, out of hopeful green stuff woven."
-Walt Whitman
